Central Energética Morrinhos (CEM) produces white crystal sugar, hydrous ethanol, and electric energy from sugarcane biomass. Part of the electric power generated is used by the plant itself, while the surplus is exported to the National Power System. CEM began operations in 2010 and is located in the municipality of Morrinhos, in the State of Goiás.
