(“Educating for the Future”) is the name of the Educational Visit Programme developed by Usina Colorado around 20 years ago. The initiative introduces students to the agribusiness sector’s commitment to productivity, efficiency, sustainability, and care for people and the environment.

Students from public schools visit the company and have the opportunity to learn about the sugarcane production process — from the fields to the industry. They take part in lectures with company professionals, interact with staff, and
participate in guided tours of the mill’s facilities.

Many of these visiting students have family members who work at Usina Colorado — such as parents, grandparents, or siblings — and return home with a deeper understanding of the strategic role of agribusiness in Brazil’s development.

Founded on June 14, 2021, the De Olho no Material Escolar Association is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to reviewing and improving the content of educational materials. Among its several initiatives, one of the highlights is the project “Vivenciando a Prática” (Experiencing Practice), which aims to broaden understanding of rural life through hands-on learning experiences.

Students and teachers are taken to rural properties for an immersive experience in the world of agribusiness, providing a deeper and more practical understanding of the sector. “This project is one of the association’s key pillars,” emphasised Teodora, “alongside our political management work, through which we aim to bring scientific knowledge and insights from respected institutions about the agribusiness sector.”
